Where is the surgery performed?

Dr. Brown performs this procedure both at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital and our Private procedure room in his office.

How long is the surgery?

This depends on the size of the scar, however, typically between 15 and 60mins.

What is the recovery like after a scar revision?

In most cases the revision is covered with a bandage and left for 4 days. Dissolving stitches are also used in most cases. Some swelling, bleeding and discomfort is normal in the first 24hrs. Normal Tylenol or Advil should be enough to cover any pain or discomfort.

What is the price of having a scar revision?

If not covered by the Medical Service Plan, Dr. Brown will give a quote depending on the size and location of the scar.  Typically, this cost starts at $750 +GST.
