Getting breast implants is the most popular way women choose to enhance the size of their breasts. Typically, women pursue having a breast augmentation due to loss of volume after pregnancy/breast feeding, breast asymmetry (two different sized breasts), sagging of the breasts and to look more feminine due to being self-conscious. In your one-on-one consultation with Dr. Brown in our Abbotsford, BC office, he will discuss:
- If you are a candidate for a breast augmentation
- Go over your expectations for your surgical goal
- What to expect before and after your surgery
- What size of implant would best be suited for your body type
- What type of implant will be used, silicone gel or saline (silicone gel is our most popular)
- Where the implants will be placed (on top of or under the muscle)
- Where the incision will be made (inframammary or periareolar)
- The benefits and potential risks with having a breast augmentation
You will be able to try on our sample implants in a variety of sizes to help you decide the size of implant to choose. It is recommended to wear a non-padded or push-up bra in order for you to see the most natural effect possible with the sample implant.
Once you are done your consultation, you will be given a quote for the surgery, which is good for 6 months. This quote includes the fee for Dr. Brown, the clinic, the implants and follow-up appointments with Dr. Brown. The only extra cost to you would be the pain medication that would be prescribed to you for after your surgery and general lab work (if you do not have a BC Care Card). You will be given a booklet of information to take home with you which will include your quote, more information on the breast augmentation surgery, clinic information and financing options.

Where is the surgery performed?
Dr. Brown performs the surgery at a private surgical facility located in Langley, BC. It is just minutes from Highway 1 and an hour outside of Vancouver, BC.
How long is the surgery?
The surgery typically takes 60 minutes and is done under a general anesthetic. You can expect to be at the surgical clinic from 3-6 hours.
What is the recovery like after having a breast augmentation?
Most of our patients find their pain and discomfort subsides a week after surgery. Heavy lifting and strenuous activity, including exercising should be avoided for 3-4 weeks unless specified by Dr. Brown.
How long after my consultation can I book my surgery?
With our increased flexibility with scheduling, we can typically accommodate the month you would like to proceed with your surgery in.

What is the price of having a breast augmentation?
Dr. Brown will discuss the actual cost of have a breast augmentation in the consultation but typically the cost is around $10,500+GST.
