(rhytidectomy surgery)
Women and men typically choose to move forward with rhytidectomy surgery, better known as a facelift, when they begin to notice a loss of youthful appearance. Facelift surgery is a more invasive form of cosmetic surgery, performed under general anesthesia, that removes excess loose and sagging skin from the face, chin, and neck caused by aging. A blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) can also be performed at the same time as a facelift to achieve a more comprehensive facial rejuvenation.
A facelift remains one of the most popular procedures for improving visible signs of aging and restoring smoother, firmer contours to the face and neck. At Abbotsford Plastic Surgery, Dr. Aaron Brown customizes every facelift cosmetic surgery to suit the individual’s goals and anatomy for natural, lasting results.
In your one-on-one consultation at our Abbotsford, B.C. office, Dr. Brown will discuss:
Once your consultation is complete, you’ll receive a quote for your facelift cosmetic surgery, valid for six months. This includes the surgical fee for Dr. Brown, the clinic fee, and all post-operative follow-up appointments. The only additional costs would be for prescription pain medication and general lab work (if you do not have a BC Care Card). You’ll also receive an information booklet that includes your quote, details about the facelift procedure, clinic information, and financing options.
Dr. Brown performs facelift surgery at a private surgical facility located in Langley, BC. It is conveniently just minutes from Highway 1 and approximately one hour outside of Vancouver, BC.
The facelift procedure typically takes 3 to 4 hours, depending on the extent of the work being done. All specifics will be discussed during your consultation. You should plan to spend most of the day at the surgical clinic.
Every patient heals differently, as each facelift cosmetic surgery is tailored to the individual. Bruising and swelling are common in the first one to two weeks. Dr. Brown will remove stitches approximately 7 to 10 days after the surgery. Most patients are able to resume normal daily activities within two weeks, but strenuous activities should be avoided until Dr. Brown provides clearance.
Thanks to our flexible scheduling, we can typically accommodate your preferred month for facelift surgery, depending on availability.
